Welcome!

I’m excited to meet you.

What would your life look like if you woke up each day connected to your body, your community, and the natural world?

In Western society, so many of us have done all the "shoulds" and found success in a traditional sense, but feel let down, frustrated, discouraged, or burned out.

This can look like:

  • lack of inspiration about where we currently are in life,

  • frustration at being unable to make an impact despite having amazing ideas for positive change

  • fatigue from constantly supporting others

  • anger at our society’s broken systems and its bureaucracy, resistance, and red tape.

Society’s individualistic values tend to make us feel like we are on our own and can depend only on ourselves for what we need. Our bodies become tools for helping us get things done, rather than valued parts of us that we listen to and honor.  Often, nature becomes an afterthought as we consume the most convenient and easy options while trying to keep up with the hustle and demands of life.

It doesn’t have to be this way. There are so many possibilities outside the status quo, ways of being that don't encourage us to extract from our own bodies, each other, and the environment.  By reconnecting to our sense of self and community through imagination, embodiment practices, and archetypal coaching, we can create shifts in our day to day lives that also positively impact other people and the world around us.

Hi, I’m Jillian.

You can also call me JJ - an intuitive coach who lives and works from a place of possibility. Working with me is the right fit for folks who want to challenge the status quo in their lives and in the world.

The process of working with me is rooted in connection; I cultivate an embodied, exploratory experience to connect mind, body and spirit and to develop a deeper and more authentic connection to the world around us, both our communities and the natural environment.

As a trained organizational psychologist and a systems thinker, I'm always paying attention to the dynamics of people, groups, and power structures – noticing both where things aren't working and where a system working as intended is perpetuating problematic dynamics.

I'm also intuitive with an open mind and heart, tapped into my own energy and spirituality.  Since childhood I’ve been interested in herbal and flower remedies, especially flower essences; plants are a part of my every day.

Over the last ten years, in conjunction with higher education and mindbody studies, I’ve been on a journey of noticing my own conditioning and shifting my personal relationship to self, others, and the environment.  This has required going deeper within to remember and recognize how everything is connected.  It has felt like awakening from a spell of what society tells me self worth should be, filling the void and moments of numbness or tragedy with consumerism. The constant need for “more” keeps us working instead of connecting and being present.  Western culture needs to shift urgently - we quite literally cannot continue to consume the way we currently do if we want our children to have a future on this planet.  I believe that the remedy for these challenges is changing *how* we relate to ourselves, each other, and nature.

Being a systems thinker and intuitive has fueled my role as a changemaker. I am always looking for ways to drive change, including:

  • At Google, where I use my academic training to drive systemic change

  • As a facilitator of group workshops to cultivate connection, mindbody awareness, and empathy – including amongst senior executives, recentering environments around people’s intrinsic value rather than their productivity

  • In 1:1 settings where we have the opportunity to explore what approaches resonate for each individual to go deeper within

For over a decade, I’ve also been bringing mindbody practices to different kinds of spaces, be it yoga studios, retreats, community centers, or corporations.  During that time, mindfulness techniques have become more popular and mainstream in Western society. At first, I was really excited at the increased demand for teachers like me.  However, I slowly realized that these techniques were more about training people to cope with bad situations, band-aids that encouraged individual resilience in the face of hardship and toxicity, rather than changing the situations and systems that allow those problems to exist.

While these practices are definitely supportive during difficult times, my belief is that they should not be about creating spaces for“good vibes only,” numbing ourselves from reality, or returning as quickly as possible to productivity after hardship. Instead, my offering is focused on providing tools to truly break free from conditioning, reconnect to what’s already within each of us, and live a more purposeful life.

If you're ready to start exploring with me...

Quiz: Uncover your Guiding Archetypal Energy

Archetypes are patterns that show up all over - in psychology, mythology, storytelling, astrology, movies, TV shows, and even personas of different public figures who we come to admire or dislike.

When we use archetypes in our work together, we can uncover both patterns that you want to let go of and characteristics that you want to embody.  Let’s find out which archetypal energy matches what you want to embody in your life right now.
